The United States is in the golden age of consumerism.
Americans represent only 4 percent of the world's
population, yet consume over 30 percent of the world's
goods. Flea markets, garage sales, and consignment
stores are packed with barely worn clothing and seldom
used household goods. Second-handing and recycling
are ways to stop our runaway consumption and save
a few dollars, too.
The recycled clothing on this site has
been washed or dry-cleaned before listing. Loose or
missing buttons are replaced and any tears or open seams
are repaired. Shoes and boots are cleaned and the insides
wiped down with antiseptic solution. All household items
are cleaned and washed before sale. Fabrics, if in original
condition, are not washed, so that the original starch
sizing is preserved. If cotton fabrics are age-darkened
or stained, they will be cold water washed, air dried,
then lightly starched and ironed for easier handling.
Many items, such as cowboy boots, 501
jeans and denim shirts are timeless American classics;
admired the world over. Ethnic items represent a rich
mixture of designs and colors that add interest and
eye appeal to clothing and home décor. I hope
you enjoy looking at my site and the items that I have
listed. If you have any questions, please contact me
at recycletron@aol.com.
